How to Choose the Right Massage for Stress Relief

At Tini Jane Studio, I meet many women who come in simply needing a moment to breathe — to relax, unwind, and release stress from their busy days. I’ve practiced deep tissue, relaxing, Chinese, and Thai foot massage, but I’m still learning and exploring different massage courses — every new technique teaches me something new about how to help people feel better.
If you’ve ever felt unsure about which massage to book, here’s a simple guide to help you choose the right one for you.
1. Think About Your Goals
Do you want to relax, release tension, or ease muscle pain? Different massages serve different purposes:
Swedish/Relaxing Massage: Gentle, perfect if you want to unwind.
Deep Tissue Massage: Great for sore muscles or tension in the back, neck, or shoulders.
Tingle/ASMR Massage: For tingling sensations that deeply relax your body and mind.
2. Consider the Pressure
Some people like a gentle touch, others prefer firm pressure. Don’t be afraid to communicate what feels comfortable — even at my studio, I encourage clients to speak up!
3. Check the Environment
Relaxation is about the whole experience. Look for a studio that is quiet, clean, and cozy. At Tini Jane Studio, I’ve tried to make the space feel welcoming and peaceful, even as I continue learning.
4. Ask Questions & Try Something New
If you’re unsure, ask the therapist what they recommend. Sometimes trying a massage you haven’t experienced before (like tingle therapy) can be a wonderful surprise!
Final Thought
Based on my experiences, I’ve seen how a thoughtful massage can make a big difference for stress relief. If you’re in Amsterdam, I’d love to welcome you to Tini Jane Studio for your first relaxing experience!
